Frequently
Asked Questions
Q/ I had a
difficult birth which resulted in an emergency c
section. How soon after a c section is it safe to
start exercising?
A/ At this
early stage you can and definately should follow the
pelvic floor exercise programme and any of the phase one
exercises that feel ok to do. Monitor yourself
carefully, watch out for any signs of discomfort or pain
around the scar. Also you can follow the eating
plan, you should see great results from that
alone.
Q/ I dont
just have weight on my stomach, my legs are my worst
area. Will this plan still work for
me?
A/ The baby
belly fat loss plan will do three things for you.
Firstly it will flatten your stomach, secondly it will
help you to lose weight and thirdly you will become
fitter and feel healthier allowing you to cope with the
stresses of having a new baby. When losing weight
or body fat it is not possible to spot reduce, that is
lose weight from any one particular area. The fat
is used from the entire body as energy if needed.
By creating a calorie deficit we put our bodies in to fat
burning mode and you will lose fat from all over, your
legs as well.
Q/ I dont have the
time or energy to do anything right now, I just want to
concentrate on my new baby, can I start the plan in a few
weeks time, will it still work for me
then?
A/ Yes this
plan is a very effective fat loss plan for anyone at
anytime, especially postnatal women. You should
certainly be doing some of the pelvic floor and pelvic
tilting exercises now though. They are so easy to
do and only take minutes a day. When you feel more
in control of your life again and ready to get in to
shape then you can follow the entire system. It
will still be very effective.
Q/ My
prepregnancy weight was 9 stone. I gave birth
3 months ago and still weigh 11stone. How much
weight could I expect to lose and is it unrealistic to
expect to reach 9 stone again?
A/ It is
very difficult to predict weight loss as people vary
greatly. It will depend on a number of factors
including how well you stick to the system and how much
weight you gained during your pregnancy. It is very
realistic to lose at least a stone on this plan and many
inches from around the body. As to whether you
could reach 9 stone again, that will depend on your
determination and commitment. Unless there are any
medical reasons why you couldnt then there is no
physiological reason why you wont get back to that weight
again.
